I guess the upside of losing your handbag (I know I’m harping on this topic) is that you get to replace the contents with new and/or improved versions.
Yesterday I got some new glasses.
(No change to the prescription required.)
And while I greatly lament the passing of of my old pair I think I’ll be happy with the new (even if my bank balance isn’t quite so enthusiastic).
The cost on replacing everything would be horrendous. I still can’t get over the fact that none of it has been returned. I find that even more horrendous than the expenditure on replacing the items.
July 6th, 2004 at 10:16 amYou’re right, Rae. It is SO depressing that no one would think to return at least the bits which would have no relevance for anyone else except me, especially the diary and reading glasses. Cards and things are relatively easy to replace and I’d even be prepared to lose the $20 cash as a “penalty fee” for being so careless. The rest of the stuff is so specific to me that it would be junk to anyone else – so I guess that’s how it has been treated.
